چکیده

Lanyi, Janos K. (Stanford University School of Medicine, Palo Alto, Calif.), and Joshua Lederberg. Fluorescent method for the detection of excreted ribonuclease around bacterial colonies. J. Bacteriol. 92:1469-1472. 1966.-A test for the release of extracellular ribonuclease by Bacillus subtilis colonles was developed. The method consists of incorporating acridine orange and ribonucleic acid into nutrient agar plates and viewing the grown bacterial colonies under ultraviolet light. Regions of ribonuclease secretion appear as dark halos around the colonies on a green fluorescent background. The theoretical basis and the utility of this test are discussed.

Molecular Detection of Lipase A gene in Putative Bacillus subtilis Strains Isolated from Soil

The present study was undertaken to screen the soil samples collected in Iran for the presence of the Bacillus subtilis lipase A gene. The bacterial colonies obtained from the collected soil samples were examined by physical appearance, biochemical tests and  the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Only four colonies were identified as putative B. subtilis strains and all contained the lipase A ge...

Histochemical observations on Mycoplasma after staining with acridine orange.

Mycoplasma colonies and Mycoplasma cells in preparations from infected milk and lymph nodes were observed for their fluorescent qualities after treatment with acridine orange. Mycoplasma colonies fluoresced brilliant red or red-orange. When treated after exposure to ribonuclease, the colonies fluoresced lime-green. There was no fluorescence when both ribonucleic acid and deoxyribonucleic acid w...

Association of Candida sp. with the Degrees of Dysplasia and Oral Cancer: A Study by Calcofluor White under Fluorescent Microscopy

Background and objective:Candida albicans (C. albicans) play a significant role in oral mucosal carcinogenesis. It can be identified using various techniques in cytological smears. But, very few studies have been conducted on histopathological sections using calcofluor white M2R under fluorescent microscopy. Additionally, detection and quantification ...

Immunofluorescence Method for The Detection of Non-Pathogenic Influenza Virus

The direct F.A. Method has been used for differentiation of virulent and avirulent lines of influenza viruses. A positive fluorescence was obtained indicating the level of virus in the tissues, sorbing with dried mouse powder helped to reduce non-specific staining. The virulent line showed the greatest number of fluorescent cells with the peak at 10 hours. the non-virulent lines showed a gra...
